The TRC for ballast water discharge is limited by the maximum flow rate of the selected UV unit model.The treatmentflow rate is monitoredby a flowmeterat the BWMSinlet (beforefilter).TypeandmodeldesignationsThe CompactCleanBWMShas the modeldesignationVxxxxxFyyyyN S 00 for modelssuitablefor non-hazardousareas and VxxxxxFyyyy E S 00 for modelssuitablefor installationin hazardousareas, where:Vxxxxxis the applicableUV unit model,refer to Additionalpage 3 of this certificate.Fyyyyis the applicableFiltrexfilter modelor Byyyyis the applicableBOLLFILTERfilter model,refer toAdditionalpage 2 of this certificate.S is the skid mounteddeliverytype, L is the loose componentdeliverytype, D is the deckhousedeliverytypeand M is the low versionof the skid mounteddeliverytype.00 is the standardtype while B0 or BC is used for BWMSinstallationswith a boosterpump and 0C or BC isused for a custommade type (in terms of selectedpipe materials).The CompactClean BWMS is available in two versions: 1) CompactClean(CC): The BWMScan only be operatedin US mode.2) CompactCleanOptIMO(OptIMO):The BWMSmay be operatedeither in IMO or US mode.SystemDesignLimitations1.UV-Intensity(UVI)The CompactCleansystemwill operateat full flow with a UV Intensityhigher or equal to the TRC. At lowerUVI values the flow reductionis applied,Min UV-I compliancelevel alarm is triggered,when UVI is less thanthe approvedranged.The appliedUV dosageis a calculatedfunctionof the UV intensity(UVI) and the exposuretime. Theseparametersare directlyaffectedby flowrateand the UV transmission(UVT)of the water.The CompactCleanBWMShas two compliancemodes:IMO mode and US mode.In IMO mode:1).Thesystemwill be able to operateat full flow from UV-T 1.0 down to UV-T approx.0.62, where after flowis reducedto cope with even lower UV-T.The flow controlis based on the UV-Intensity(UVI) measurementinside the UV unit, and flow reductionis active below UVI 800 W/m2 (Max. TRC UVI).2).The lowest UVI the systemis approvedfor: UVI 170 W/m2.3).Dimmingof UV lamp powerstarts when UVI measuredexceeds900 W/m2,where after lamps will bedimmedto maintaina UVI of 900W/m2±50. The maximumdimmingis 20% of maximumrated power.In US mode:1) The system will be able to operate at full flow from UV-T 1.0 down to UV-T approx. 0.65, where after flow is reduced to cope with even lower UV-T. The flow control is based on the UV-Intensity (UVI) measurement inside the UV unit, and flow reduction is active below UVI 880 W/m2 (Max. TRC UVI).2) The lowest UVI the system is approved for : UVI 227 W/m2.VIEW ONLY
